Today you'll learn the structures 'such .... that' and 'so .... that' for expressing cause and effect. You'll do Ex 9-11 pp. 391-392 Chapter 19 as practice.
2. Writing
You'll continue working in your groups on brainstorming your expository essay topics until you narrow your choices down to one topic that can easily be broken down into three or four categories. You'll then decide on the categories. Although you'll work together in groups on this, I want you to allocate paragraphs of your essay to different group member (e.g. Ayaka - Introduction & Body 1, Bank - Body 2, Yuuka - Body 3 & Conclusion). You can spend the class planning your essay together, but don't start the actual writing yet).
3. Publishing
You'll check out another Google Product today - Google Documents, or just 'Docs' for short. Docs lets groups of people work collaboratively on an online document rather than having many copies on individual computers. Today, you'll create a Google Document for your essay, give all groups members (and teacher/assistant) access to collaborate on this document, and start to plan your essay. Here's your instructions for your group leader:Open Firefox browser by clicking the icon on your Desktop.

3. Click on New > Document
4. You should now be in a blank document. Type in the names of your group members with no spaces (e.g. AyakaBankYuuka) then click on the save file icon in the top left corner. You should now see the file name at the top of the screen.

7. In the next screen type in any message such as 'You can now help me to plan this essay. Here is the link to the Google Document' then click on 'Send'

If you want the other person to see your changes you’ll need to click on your save button. If the other person then clicks on refresh, he/she will see your changes.
